(whisperDISPATCH) - Were you as ticked off as many people around the world when news of a reality
show based around winning a kidney transplant hit the media?
If so I suppose you can
tear up that list of people to which you were going to send hateful emails. Word is that the show was
a hoax.
It came out that the woman who claimed to be dying of a brain tumor and who would put
up her {tag kidney} for donation was an actress! I've heard comments from everything to
"That's disgusting" to "What reality show?" concerning this issue.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the creators of the show claimed the {tag
hoax} was done to exert pressure onto the Dutch government to do something about the organ donation
laws and "raise public awareness of the need for organs".
Not everyone is buying
that argument, however.
Some news watchers have speculated that the public outrage coupled
with someone finding out the lead character was an actress may have contributed more to canceling the
shooting of the reality show than anything else.
Either way, it's one less ridiculous {tag reality show} on the tube, so we should all be thankful about that.
