articlesRepublican VP nominee Sarah Palin is refusing to cooperate with investigators looking into whether or not the Alaska Governor abused her office to get her ex-brother-in-law, Michael Wooten, fired. The McCain campaign announced Monday night Palin's refusal to meet with investigators; blaming it on partisan politics.

Known as "Troopergate" the scandal is taking on a life of its own. Escalating what at first looked like a small non-issue, Friday (Sept 12) a bi-partisan investigation voted to subpoena Palin's husband, Todd Palin, in relation to the investigation because his name appears on lists of emails pertaining to the scandal.

Palin had said she "welcomed" the investigation and claimed to be cooperating. Not so much now. Some are wondering what changed between then and now.

The McCain campaign, according to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, claims the investigation is "tainted by politics" and alleges Democrats have "taken over" the investigation.

See video of Maddow interviewing David Corn about the details:

CNN reporter Randi Kaye reported just tonight the McCain campaign is blaming the Obama campaign as a reason for flip-flopping concerning the investigation.

Kaye telling Anderson Cooper:

"Today the campaign held a presser saying Barack Obama, the Obama campaign is orchestrating this investigation. That they are behind this announcing, and I'm quoting here, that 'the Governor won't be interviewed by investigators and will not cooperate with a tainted investigation'. "
Nobody ever accused the McCain campaign of lacking imagination. This investigation was started by a bipartisan group in Palin's home state, not the Obama campaign.

The Obama's initial response to the McCain allegation, as Kaye reports:
"In response to that, Anderson, the Obama campaign coming out tonight calling this 'complete paranoia'. "
