Did Sony Corp. snatch it’s much hyped blu-ray disc technology from a California based company? That’s what the Irvine-based company Target Technology is claiming.

The tech company filed a lawsuit against Sony earlier this month alleging Sony violated its patent rights when Sony used the technology for it’s products.

Target Technology is seeking to permanently prevent Sony from infringing on it’s patent by seeking an injunction against the mega corporation. Target Technology was granted a patent in 2006 after filing it initially in 2004.

According to ZDNet, there have been allegations of patent snatching by Sony before. Just three months ago Sony had to shell out $97 million in damages to another company, Immersion, concerning the “rumble functions in Sony’s Dual Shock controllers”.
