(whisperDISPATCH) - Thought you were doing something Google-free by publishing your RSS feed through the website Feedburner.com? Well think again.

The ginormous tech company has purchased Feedburner reportedly for $100 million.

The terms of the buyout have not been disclosed, so the $100 million figure according to the news we have so far.  As you may already know if you have a website, {tag Feedburner} itself is a hot commodity.

It publishes feeds from websites all around the world and automatically pings websites like Technorati when new content is published in your feed.

What {tag Google} has admitted, though, is that it now has yet another way to put it's Ads in front of more eyeballs.

CNet News's Elinor Mills reports that Google is "the titan of paid search advertising and has a large network of Web sites that host ads Google sells though it's {tag AdWords} online marketing system".

No arguments there. As a matter of fact, you can see Google Ads on this site and dang near every major site you'll visit online.

On top of the omnipresence of {tag Google Ads}, now their ads can probably be added to the feed itself or at least to Feedburner's website.

Google's V.P. of Product Management, Susan Wojcicki, is quoted in that CNet article as saying:
"If you are a Google advertiser, now you can advertise on feeds that you otherwise may not have had access to," she said. Also, "our advertisers will have more access to (FeedBurner) publishers."

Yeah, no kidding.

Feedburner is among a string of companies Google has acquired. Back in April, Google snatched up {tag DoubleClick}, an ad firm it spent $3.1 billion on. Yikes!

Recently they've purchased GreenBorder Technologies, a security software developer and the Spanish geo-photo firm Panoramio. Of course you already know Google snatched up {tag YouTube} for a big bucks as well.

And just for future notice, if Google offers me $3.1 billion for this website, I won't sell.... I WON'T!  I SWEAR! Ok..... I'm lying. So let's enjoy each other while we can. Tongue out
